9 inch Single Point Bamboo Knitting Needles Set by Oriental Touch

Bamboo Knitting Needles Set by Oriental Touch

I reckon the constant clickety-clack of knitting needles would most likely set a person’s teeth on edge; especially when you are sitting on a bus or train after a hard day’s work and some avid knitter is sitting not far from you and ‘clicking’ away.

Well for those of you who do knit and would like to keep peace, I have come across silent knitting needles.

Now if you’re an Aussie, you are going to say, “come off the grass” (do you think I’m stupid or gullible to believe that?).

Truth be, these knitting needles are made out of grass……..bamboo grass, that is and they make knitting a quiet recreational pleasure.

Oriental Touch sell their eco friendly (bamboo) knitting needles in bulk.  What a great way for knitting groups to save money and save money on postage fees too.  You can purchase Oriental Touch Bamboo Knitting Needles on Amazon.

You will find more bamboo knitting needles sold on eBay.

Interesting Facts

Eco friendly bamboo knitting needles are light weight and the more you use them warmth radiates from them.  This helps to eliminate some of the pressure felt in your hands and wrists whilst knitting; lessening the chances of suffering from strain which causes aching fingers and wrists.

Apparently, ‘stitches’ are more inclined to stay put on bamboo knitting needles than on aluminum or plastic knitting needles.  Good news for beginners.

Bamboo knitting needles will smoothen with each use; giving them a glossy sheen and aging them gracefully.

Unlike aluminum and plastic knitting needles, bamboo knitting needles glide over each other with an even and steady motion.  Less friction is caused and adding to the fact the type of matter which bamboo is made of it abates (reduces) that ‘clicking’ sound.
