I have used many types of kettles over the years but it wasn’t until I decided to try a Vintage Pyrex Flameware Glass Tea Kettle (found on eBay) that I realized what I had been missing out on.  The boiled water tastes so much better and brings out the true flavor of the teas you prefer to drink.  Of course, I’m sure that it would benefit coffee drinkers too.  As the old adage goes, “Good Things Come In Glass” and in today’s society with everything plastic I can truly appreciate that old saying.  It may interest you to know that by boiling water in plastic kettles or stainless steel kettles with their plastic inserts may emit toxins from the plastic.  Drinking such water for many years may cause health issues.  Do you really want to be drinking ‘plastic’ or subject your family to it too?

Once you use a Pyrex Glass Tea Kettle or similar ‘Quality Stove Top Glass Tea Kettles‘, you will never revert back to using any other kettle for boiling water.  No more metallic taste either that you would normally get from using a stainless steel kettle.  Most quality stove top glass tea kettles come with infusers for making loose leaf tea.  If you prefer not to use the infuser, it can be removed.

Want something more ‘stylish’?  Then ‘Bonjour Zen Glass Teapots‘, on Amazon, will be up your alley.

On eBay you will find the Grosche Vienna Glass Tea Kettle   Your cup or mug will make all the difference in how your tea and coffee tastes too.  So why not drink from a ‘Quality Glass Tea Mug/Teacup’ made by Grosche Kent?

Grosche Kent quality glass tea mugs/tea cups are sold on Amazon as well.

Using Your Glass Tea Kettle

Now with all that in mind, it does take longer to boil water in a quality stove top glass tea kettle.  A six cup on low heat will take a little over an hour to boil water.  Once you get into a routine of knowing when to put it on the stove whilst you are doing other things, you will realize the wait was worth it.  Having friends’ or family over?  No worries!  Just buy two quality stove top glass tea kettles and have them boiling at the same time.

Glass Tea Kettle Care Instructions

Drastic changes in temperature will see to your kettle cracking.  Allow your kettle to come slowly to the boil.  Let your kettle cool down for at least ten to fifteen minutes before adding more filtered water to bring it to the boil again.  The same applies when you need to wash your kettle.  Before washing it, let it cool a tad before placing it in warm water.
