While searching online for eco-friendly cat toys for my two year old cat “Bella”, I came across a company called Purrfectplay who sells cat toys made with colorgrown cottons and natural wools which mean no dyes are used.
Bella is a very fussy cat and loses interest in toys very quickly. For the past couple of months Bella’s been playing with a recycled brown paper bag scrunched up into a ball. It didn’t last very long and I knew I had to provide Bella with better play toys.
I contacted Pam Wheelock, the owner of Purrfectplay, and ordered a variety of cat toys for Bella. A few had catnip inside them.
When the parcel arrived and I opened the contents, I could smell the lovely aroma from the catnip instantly. It wasn’t overpowering at all. I called out to Bella to show her new toys. After sniffing the fuzzy white mouse, she got all excited and started playing with it instantly.
She looked so cute holding it close to her chest. My mother then introduced the chubby snake, kitten mitten, happy carrot and arrangement of balls to Bella and she looked at them ‘childlike’ with a surprised look on her face. Bella didn’t know which one to play with next.
Once Bella had a great play session with her new cat toys, we noticed how much more loving she was towards us. I was so thrilled and so was my mum.
It pays to spend that little extra to buy pet toys which are durable, non-toxic and easy to care for. Remember the saliva from your pets’ mouth which comes into contact with plastic toys may cause allergic reactions.
I’d love to see more pet owners support Purrfectplay by purchasing Pam’s pet toy range.
